A Comparison Between The Canadian And Indian University Education System

Having completed my entire education in India and then having gone on to work for a multicultural organization like the World Bank, I was always fascinated by the differences in the way Indians and Canadians approached learning, ideas, and issues. Why was it that my fellow Indian co-workers were more comfortable at compiling reports and humungous numeric data than, unlike their Canadian counterparts, presenting a paper in front of an audience or writing reflective pieces? Weren’t we all educated the same way? That the answer lies somewhere in the respective education systems was something I got when I continued my education in Canada. The differences in teaching and learning were apparent. It is these differences that I’d like to highlight to a student audience that will be able to relate to both the systems of education in more ways than one.
