Your ‘Cultural Brain’ on Nature – Popular discourse on how nature affects our brain can ignore cultural difference. This poster will present a literature review of current and preliminary research on how cultural background affects perceptions of, and reactions to the natural environment. Consideration will be given to planning field trips for EAL (English as an Additional Language) students.
Joan Robertson has experience teaching community classes, ELSA, and academic prep., most recently at Kwantlen Polytechnic University. She also volunteers in the Galiano Conservancy nature education program.
